This French smoked salt is created from coarse Celtic Guérande salt, which is typically harvested in the Guerande marshes in southern Brittany. After being dried, the coarse salt (“gros sel gris” in French) is slowly smoked for a few days using beech wood. Because of the method utilized, the grains are infused with smoke, giving the salt a powerful aroma and subtle flavour.

Coarse dried salt is sieved after being dried at low temperatures to preserve its chemical composition. This sea salt or “sel gris” is perfect for cooking and comes in a refillable grinder. Natural, without any additives, and loaded with minerals (magnesium, calcium, potassium, and trace elements), this Guérande salt has a great flavour without bitterness. Due to its harvesting on a clay background, its crystals are grey, friable, and perfectly assimilable.
