AOP Goat Cheese from Poitou with a Distinctive Flavour

Chabichou du Poitou AOP is one of France’s most celebrated goat cheeses, produced exclusively in the Poitou region from 100% raw French goat’s milk. Recognisable by its small truncated cylindrical (“bonde”) shape, this semi-soft cheese develops from a bright white paste to a creamy ivory as it matures. Its flavour is fresh, nutty and distinctly goaty while remaining well balanced.

Protected by the AOP designation, every stage of production takes place within the designated area covering Vienne, Deux-Sèvres and Charente. The curd is ladled by hand to preserve its delicate texture before careful maturation brings out the cheese’s creamy body and complex flavour. Using raw milk allows the natural character of the milk and local terroir to shine through.
