Product information

Discover the heart of Moroccan cooking with this handcrafted terracotta tagine pot. Standing 24 cm tall with a 29 cm diameter and a 2.25-litre capacity, this tagine dish is perfect for preparing slow-cooked stews bursting with Mediterranean aromas.

Rooted in centuries-old North African cuisine, the tagine pot is named after both the conical earthenware dish and the flavourful Moroccan meal cooked within it. The tagine’s iconic cone-shaped lid allows steam to circulate and condense, keeping your food moist and tender while concentrating rich, layered flavours. The result? Perfectly succulent meats, melt-in-the-mouth vegetables, and deeply aromatic sauces every time.

Handcrafted from durable terracotta and finished with a warm honey-coloured glaze, this clay tagine pot ensures even heat distribution for gentle, consistent cooking. It’s as functional as it is beautiful, a true centrepiece for your kitchen and table alike. Suitable for gas and ceramic stovetops as well as oven cooking, and dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup.

Please note that handmade products made of natural raw material may have some slight imperfections. these imperfections in no way affect the quality or performance of the piece

Please follow these instructions when purchasing our terracotta tagine pot:

  • Before first use: Soak the terracotta pot in water for a few hours to strengthen the terracotta and help prevent cracking during cooking.
  • After cleaning: Allow it to dry completely before storing in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.
  • Avoid placing the hot dish on cold surfaces.
  • This ceramic ovenware is heat-resistant from –25°C to 250°C.
  • Products retain heat and will stay hot for up to 30 minutes

How to cook with a tagine pot:

Begin by layering onions, carrots and potatoes, at the base, forming a natural trivet. Add your choice of tender lamb, chicken, or beef, then top with seasonal vegetables like courgettes, peppers, or aubergines.

Enhance the dish with classic Moroccan spices such as ras el hanout, cumin, coriander, cinnamon and paprika. For sweetness and depth, add a handful of prunes, a drizzle of honey, or a few sliced preserved lemons for that iconic tangy aroma. As the tagine pot slowly simmers, its gentle heat coaxes every ingredient into harmony — producing a rich, aromatic stew that’s both comforting and full of character. Serve straight from the tagine dish, paired with fluffy couscous or warm flatbread to soak up every last drop of sauce.
