The pêche de vigne fruit, also known as a “peach of the grapevine,” is a popular late-summer treat in France. Only during the brief, last few weeks of August does the rare pêche de Vigne bloom and is characterised by a blood coloured flesh. The exterior of these heirloom peaches is dull, very fuzzy, and dusky; it offers little indication of the brilliant red-coloured flesh within. Their flavour is a wonderful mixture of a ripe, juicy white peach and a juicy raspberry.
