Fortwenger Honey and Orange Nonnettes 150g

Fortwenger honey and orange nonnettes bring the comforting flavours of Alsace to your table. These small round gingerbread cakes, whose name comes from the French “nonnes” meaning “little nuns,” are a classic pain d’épices delicacy filled with sweet orange marmalade. 

Each nonnettes is made from a soft, spiced dough rich in honey (21%), blended with flour and warm spices such as cinnamon and cloves. During baking, the cakes develop a tender, slightly sticky texture that pairs beautifully with the citrus filling. The orange marmalade adds a bright, fruity contrast to the mellow sweetness of the gingerbread, creating a balanced and aromatic bite. 

Prepared using Fortwenger’s signature pain d’épices recipe, the dough is gently baked to preserve moisture and enhance the natural flavours of the honey and spices. Perfect with tea or as a light dessert, these individually sized cakes also make a charming gift.
