This delicious terrine combines hare, marinated in red wine, with pork and ground hazelnuts for a beautifully earthy and complex taste. Made to a traditional recipe by French producer Castaing, it’s a true rustic delight, bursting with the tastes and textures of the South.
You can enjoy your hare terrine on its own, slathered thickly on fresh bread and gherkins. But it really stands out when paired with fresh fruit, French cheeses and salad as part of a luxurious lunch or dinnertime spread. This terrine has a long shelf life and can be stored unopened in the refrigerator for a few months before consuming.
Famous for its foie gras, pâtés and terrines, Maison Castaing was founded by Joseph Castaing in 1925 in the picturesque village of Coudures, south-west France. Joseph’s descendants run the company to this day, exporting the flavours of Landes region to gourmands all over the world.
